"You want to be a good marketer?" the fisherman asked
"Then don’t be a marketer. Be a fisherman instead."
“A fisherman?” we were confused.
“Yes a fisherman,” he said. “An angler.”
“Here’s how a good angler catches his fish,” he continued.
“He chooses a good bait that his fish likes.”
“He uses a good hook that never lets his fish go.”
“He reels the fish in with control. He keeps the line taut but doesn’t pull too aggressively or it might snap.”
“And finally, when the fish is right in front of him, he catches it.”
“A good marketer is just like a good angler.”
“He chooses a good bait that his prospect likes.”
“He uses a good hook that grabs his prospect’s attention and never lets it go.”
“He reels the prospect in and lets them see why they MUST have his product. He maintains their interest but doesn’t get too aggressive or they may be turned off.”
“And finally, when the prospect is right in front of him and eager to buy, he closes them.”
“So you wanna stand out in your marketing, don’t be a marketer. Be an angler.”
